The Culinary Institute of America has the perfect adventure for home cooks who dream of glory: Culinary Boot Camp. Over five days, participants learn knife skills, kitchen terminology, and cooking methods at the elbow of renowned chefs. And the food isn't bad either. Three sessions are offered starting in September. Tuition is $1,500.
If Culinary Boot Camp sounds too intense, the institute offers courses such as Cuisine from the Basque Country, Something Fishy in the Kitchen, and Breads of the World, at its Hudson River campus.
