Tv sitcoms and books have long targeted the handyman and his various projects. What about the women who are eager to tackle more than crafts and quilts?
In her new book and coming PBS series, "Handy Ma'am," Beverly DeJulio speaks to this often ignored group about home improvements, quick fixes, and other repairs.
Here are some of her tips:
*Use a 3-ring binder to keep owner's manuals in one place.
*A paste of cornstarch and water can work in a pinch to putty over nail holes.
*Keep small parts like screws and bolts on a piece of masking tape while working.
