Cash over quality time

Nine out of 10 Americans say their personal lives should be a bigger priority ... but they'd rather have cash, thank you very much. Asked whether they want more time at home or a higher salary, 83 percent of those interviewed in a survey said they'd prefer a fatter paycheck. The findings are part of a Fast Company magazine survey based on interviews with 1,096 college-educated, employed adults. The survey also found that:

*77 percent would either quit work or reduce their hours if money weren't an issue.

*84 percent say they have to work as hard as possible "in order to compete."

*88 percent find juggling work and personal life difficult.
