Mirror, mirror, on the... ground?

Ma Deming (left) and his daughter Sofia watch a solar heating device made of concrete and mirrors heat a kettle of water in their village in southwestern China. Deming paid 70 yuan (US$ 8.40) for the solar panel, which boils water in a half-hour.
