There is candor, and then there's what Reinder Eekhof put in an e-mail to a friend at a Dutch law firm. Eekhof, a new law-school graduate , wrote that he finally was finished with "this stupid education" and could hardly wait for "someone crazy enough to dump a suitcase full of money in my lap each month." Alas, he then made a minor mistake in the address, and his message ended up in the firm's communications department. Soon it was being circulated to every other law office in the country. One attorney who saw it replied with an e-mail of his own: "The advantage [for prospective employers] is that now everyone in the legal profession in Holland knows your name." But perhaps not all is lost . His friend's boss apparently was impressed enough with the plainspokenness to invite Eekhof to drop by to discuss an internship.

When Annika Sorenstam of Sweden tees off Thursday in Williamsburg, Va., she'll be trying to make golf history. If she wins the Michelob ULTRA Open at the Kingsmill Resort & Spa, it will be her sixth straight tournament victory, a feat never before accomplished on the women's professional ciruit. Her fifth consecutive victory, at the Kraft Nabisco Championship last month, tied her with Nancy Lopez, who won five straight as a rookie in 1978. The tournaments Sorenstam has won in compiling her streak, when and where each was held, and her margin of victory (in strokes, unless won in a playoff):
