... Reading?

I just finished reading Chronicles: Volume One, by Bob Dylan.

I can't get enough Dylan. I had a hard time putting this book down. I also recently read Angels & Demons by Dan Brown. If you enjoyed The Da Vinci Code you won't be disappointed with this book. It was a very imaginative, intriguing, and suspenseful read.

... Listening to?

One of the greatest inventions for me has to be the iPod. I love having my musical library with me at all times. But it seems I always listen to the same albums/songs over and over ... Bob Dylan, Gram Parsons, Bruce Springsteen and the Grateful Dead. I have been listening to Bob Dylan since I can remember. His new album, "Modern Times," I highly recommend.

Gram Parsons recorded just two solo albums – "G.P." and "Grievous Angel." He is known for bringing country music to the rock 'n' roll audience. Both albums have wonderful moments and feature Emmylou Harris, whose harmonies are a perfect compliment to Parson. Growing up on the East Coast, you can probably imagine I am a huge Bruce Springsteen fan. I have been listening to his latest CD, "We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions." The songs are classic folk songs popularized by Pete Seeger.

I have been to 72 Grateful Dead shows! The last concert I went to was Tom Waits at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN.

... Watching?

With my crazy work schedule I have to say I never seem to get the chance to go to the movie theatre. When I am home I just want to relax at home with my wife. So we usually rent movies or watch our old favorites. I did make it to the theater to see all the Lord of the Rings series. I am a very big J.R.R. Tolkien fan. So when I heard they were making a movie about the books, I was a little worried. I felt it would be very hard to capture the essence of those books. But I am very happy to say the movies were so wonderful and they really made Middle Earth and all of the characters come to life. My old favorite DVDs that I watch all the time are Godfather I & II, The Princess Bride, and Midnight Run.

A friend of mine gave me the first two seasons of Lost. I was hooked. My wife and I watched them straight through. Now I can download the show from iTunes and watch it while I am on the road. Looking forward to seeing what happens in the next season.

I have just started watching Entourage and it has been a blast. It is a very funny show.

But the NHL trumps everything! This last year I was fortunate enough to meet Erik Cole of the 2006 NHL champions, the North Carolina Hurricanes. He invited my wife and me to Game 5 of the playoffs. We have become very good friends with Erik and his family.
