The Garden

A poem

The first seedling, yet pale green,
pokes through the fissure of earth's womb
and stretches tenuous, unsteady arms
to embrace the life-sustaining light.
Others soon follow, artistry in slow motion,
an embryonic landscape wiggling to life.

The sun dips its brush
to a palette of earthly pigments and
daubs the colors of the rainbow
upon this miniature Eden. The wind
whispers a song for all things living,
for this shall be their dance.
