The Christian Science Monitor and Ashoka Changemakers share a vision for change. We want to connect knowledge to action; create communities of problem-solvers; and help readers become changemakers.
Our partnership connects The Christian Science Monitor’s approximately 10 million unique visitors per month to resources, activities, and solutions on the Changemakers online platform. Selected Monitor stories related to social challenges will be tagged with the “Make Change” button which lead readers to a range of engagement opportunities. Read more about an issue; connect with others who share your interest; explore one of our innovation competitions; or start your own project and search for funding and other resources.
Our goal: to create a social change ecosystem that gives more people the tools and the opportunities to help drive solutions. We hope it will change the way you think about the news — and about your role in the world.

Changemakers is a global online community that supports everyone’s ability to be a changemaker and to inspire, mentor, and collaborate with other members of the community at every level of changemaking. Changemakers identifies and connects the best social innovators and implementers through online competitions and changeshops, an online network for scaling-up innovation. Participants compete to surface the most promising solutions, and then collaborate to refine, enrich, and implement them. Changeshops offer a place to plug game-changing ideas into networks of resources, talent, and support. Changemakers builds on Ashoka’s three-decade history of transforming the citizen sector by building the largest association of leading social entrepreneurs in the world.
Since 1908, The Christian Science Monitor has been delivering credible, thoughtful national and global news coverage. Based in Boston, the Monitor has scores of correspondents worldwide; products available via print, online and mobile platforms; and has won seven Pulitzer Prizes and 14 Overseas Press Club awards.
