In Day of Honey: A Memoir of Food, Love, and War (Simon & Schuster, 382 pp.), Middle East correspondent and occasional Monitor contributor Annia Ciezadlo writes with warmth and style about how a fervent enthusiasm for local cuisine helped to create an air of normalcy for her and her husband during their assignments in Baghdad, Beirut, and other war-torn locales.
