Plot summary: Writer Juliet Ashton finds a letter from a stranger, one of the founders of the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. Thus she begins the task of recording the stories of the inhabitants of Guernsey Island during the German occupation and of the island's remarkable society.
