2. 'Schroder,' by Amity Gaige
In her latest novel Gaige, the author of "The Folded World," tells the story of a boy named Erik Schroder, whose parents came to America from Germany. Years later, the boy's childhood decision to change his name to Eric Kennedy has unexpected consequences when – newly divorced from his wife – he finds himself on the run from the police with his daughter. Nelson says she loves this novel, which is really "a book about identity."
