The Miracle at Speedy Motors

I was first introduced to the books about the No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency when I was traveling to Africa in 2005, and I now own and have read all nine so far in the series, including the latest one, The Miracle at Speedy Motors, which I finished this morning.  Alexander McCall Smith’s main characters – Precious Ramotswe of “traditional build” and her husband Mr. J.L.B. Matekoni (owner of Tlokweng Road Speedy Motors), Charlie the apprentice mechanic, Grace Makutsi who scored 97 percent at the Botswana Secretarial College, and Grace’s fiancé Phuti Radiphuti – are familiar to me.  All the adventures take place in Africa, but their relevance to individuals is not restricted by geography.
