Emma Watson addressed rumors via Twitter that she would star in the film adaptation of 'Fifty Shades of Grey.' Emma Watson was the subject of rumors that she was attached to star in the film after hackers obtained documents from a film company.
âWho here actually thinks I would do 50 Shades of Grey as a movie?â Watson tweeted. âLike really. For real. In real lifeâŚ. Good. Well that's that sorted then.â
Rumors about who would star as Anastasia and her billionaire boyfriend, Christian Grey, have cropped up frequently since it was announced that the bestselling erotic novel would be adapted for the big screen. Watsonâs name came up again when the hacker group Anonymous claimed to have obtained documents belonging to the German film studio Constantin, one of which stated that the actress was attached to star in âGrey.â
Constantin confirmed it had been hacked, but Universal Pictures, which will be one of the studios behind the "Grey" movie, told USA Today that the story was untrue and that no one has yet been cast in the movie.
Watson is best known for starring as brainy witch Hermione Granger in the eight-part âHarry Potterâ film series and as high school student Sam in the adaptation of the book âThe Perks of Being a Wallflower,â which came out last year. She was recently rumored to be attached to star in the title role of a film version of âCinderella,â but Variety recently reported that the deal fell through and Watson will not be involved.
âFiftyâ author EL James recently told the New York Post that no one has been cast in the film adaptation of her book but that she has some ideas some may consider unusual.
âWe donât even have a filmmaker⌠so we are still a long way away from casting,â the writer told the Post. âI have some ideasâŚ. but it may not be who people expect.â
