The Northeast Pacific saw the mildest hurricane season in recorded history, featuring no hurricanes and few tropical storms. August brought tropical storm Frank to Mexico, where it never made landfall and caused no damage. http://www.ncdc.noaa.gov/sotc/tropical-cyclones/2010/8.

The Northeast Pacific Hurricane Season was one of the least active on record. This dud of a hurricane season produced the fewest named storms and hurricanes of the modern era and had the earliest cessation of tropical activity – Sept. 23 – on record.

In August, when hurricane Earl threatened America's entire eastern seaboard, the northeast Pacific had no hurricanes and only two tropical storms, neither of which made landfall.
