The HTC Droid Incredible will arrive on April 29, according to information accidentally posted on the Verizon homepage.
And you thought Droid fever had subsided. Yesterday Verizon accidentally leaked details and a release date for the HTC-manufactured Droid Incredible, a new smartphone packing enough hardware to sink a fleet of iPhones. According to a few fleet-fingered bloggers, Verizon plastered a teaser of the Droid Incredible across its website on Tuesday afternoon, before eventually removing the information a few hours later.
The slip-up was enough to attract the attention of the tech world, and Google remains ablaze with searches for the HTC Droid Incredible. OK, we'll admit it: We're not totally sold on that name. It reminds us of the movie "The Incredibles." Still, the phone does sound pretty cool incredible. Over at Information Week, Eric Zeman runs through some of the pertinent stats, which include an eight megapixel camera:
The Droid Incredible will have a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor under the hood, accompanied by 576MB RAM/512MB ROM and 8GB of built-in internal storage. It will also have the same 3.7-inch AMOLED display, with 480×800 pixels. As with the Nexus One, the Incredible will run Android 2.1.
