Stephanie Brown Trafton, who is 32, won the gold medal for discus at the Beijing Olympics, a radical improvement over her performance in Athens, when she came in twenty-second. He gold in Beijing was the first American gold medal in the event in 76 years. Trafton is married, and lives in Arroyo, Calif. She enjoys recreational hunting.
