ORANGE REVOLUTION – 2005, Ukraine – Immediately following the November 2004 Ukrainian election, thousands of protesters peacefully took to the streets, claiming voter intimidation and election fraud. Protesters said the real election winner was Viktor Yushchenko, not Viktor Yanukovych. The country’s Supreme Court ordered a revolt and Mr. Yushchenko was declared the winner and took office on Jan. 23, 2005.
