Retail sales in the Northeast took a hit, especially on a Sunday when many people head out to look for post-Christmas bargains. By one ShopperTrak estimate, that might put a $1 billion dent in retail sales (albeit a temporary one). Airlines could see $100 million or more in revenue lopped off their next quarterly reports. City governments in the region had to dig deep to pay for snow removal.
