Even beings in a galaxy far, far away – or at least those mimicking such beings on Twitter accounts – took note of the news on planet Earth.

Apple drew in its loyal legions largely by having great products. But hey, the support called Apple Care is another facet of the company's make-it-work ethos. The company took pride in delivering everything from hardware and software to tech help and the retail experience.

One more note: As a character from "Star Wars," Admiral Ackbar has a connection with film producer George Lucas. So did Steve Jobs, who bought Pixar Animation Studios (founded by Mr. Lucas after the success of "Star Wars”) in the mid-1980s and helped it become a successful pioneer of computer animation films, starting with "Toy Story" in 1995.
