Lake Mary and Tallahassee, Fla.
George Zimmerman was pulled over for speeding in central Florida.
Lake Mary police report that Zimmerman was stopped and ticketed Tuesday morning for going 60 mph in a 45 mph zone. Zimmerman was previously pulled over on July 28 near Dallas, Texas, but was let go with a warning.
Zimmerman faces a fine of $256.Β The Orlando Sentinel reports that "Officer Jason McDaniel, who pulled Zimmerman over, was wearing a camera, and the brief traffic stop was captured on video and released by police Wednesday. It shows Zimmerman with a beard and wearing a blue plaid shirt, driving a gray Honda Ridgeline truck."
Meanwhile, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement on Wednesday released a final breakdown of security expenses associated with a month-long protest at the Florida Capitol following the July verdict in the Zimmerman trial: The final bill? Overtime expenses of nearly $173,000.
The protest began three days after Zimmerman was acquitted in July of second-degree murder and manslaughter charges in the 2012 death of teenager Trayvon Martin.
FDLE figures show that the 31-day protest also resulted in more than $20,000 in compensatory time to the officers who stayed in the Capitol with protesters.
Protesters demanded that Gov. Rick Scott call a special session to have legislators repeal the state's "stand your ground" law, which Scott steadfastly refused.
A House committee is expected to discuss the "stand your ground" law this fall.
