3. Saddam Hussein may have targeted his children

The book describes a National Security Council meeting in October 2003, during which Rumsfeld was told of a report that the former Iraqi dictator was offering $60 million for someone to kill the daughters of both Rumsfeld and Bush. He had to take it seriously: The United States had already killed Mr. Hussein’s sons in the Iraq war. “I was also realistic that there was not much one can do about that,” Rumsfeld told Mr. Stephanopoulos.
