An exhibit honoring the 200th birthday of President Abraham Lincoln opens up on Thursday in Washington, DC. The exhibit "With Malice Toward None" showcases the Bible used to swear-in both President Lincoln and President Obama. Four new postal stamps will also be released this week bearing the image of Lincoln to commemorate his birthday.

If you were growing up in the 90s, you might have heard the words "Babe-raham Lincoln" more often than Abraham Lincoln. But thankfully we've matured now so those silly references are long forgotten.

Anyway, in celebration of President Lincoln's 200th birthday, a new exhibit is being launched in the nation's capital showcasing the Bible that was used to swear-in our 16th president.

It's the same Bible that was used to swear-in Barack Obama, our 44th president. Kinda.

Oops

It was used the first time he was sworn in, anyway. The second time he didn't use a Bible.

He had to get sworn in twice because the Chief Justice fumbled the oath the first time causing Obama to say it incorrectly causing some to allege he wasn't actually president.

This led Vice President Biden to mock Justice Roberts. Which led to Biden calling Roberts and apologizing.

Justice was served when Biden himself stumbled on the oath of office while administering it to Hillary Clinton. All of this led to media accounts that Obama was sending Biden on a special mission to Antarctica.

Follow?

Display

Anyway, that Bible will be on display at the Library of Congress beginning on Thursday - the 200th anniversary of Lincoln's birth.

The Associated Press reports the display "With Malice Toward None" will offer visitors a chance to see a smorgasbord of Lincoln paraphernalia not all grouped together like this in more than 50 years.

Not only will visitors get to see the first draft of the Emancipation Proclamation but the contents from his pockets on the night he was assassinated which includes: Two pairs of glasses. A handkerchief with his name printed in red. A pocketknife. Newspaper clippings. And a brown leather wallet with a five-dollar Confederate note (which his image was not on).

You know what happened to those confederate bills? They printed so much of it that by the end of the Civil War, it was worthless. They just kept creating money out of nowhere. Thankfully we've learned our lesson and this will never happen again.

Anyway, the display will last for three months before going on a multi-state tour (just like President Obama this week) traveling to Sacramento, Chicago, Indianapolis, Atlanta and Omaha.

Ancient history

By the way, more ancient artifacts will be on display starting tomorrow but you can buy these. Four distinct postal stamps bearing the image of Lincoln will be released Monday.

These 42 cent stamps can actually be used on things called envelopes.
