Cheney incidentally was highly complimentary of the radio host yesterday saying that he would "pay" to see President Obama debate Limbaugh.
When questioned if the sarcastic tone of his reply toward Cheney was appropriate, an unrepentant Gibbs replied, "Sometimes I ask forgiveness rather than [for permission]. I hope my sarcasm didn't mask the seriousness of the answer."
