3. Tony LaRussa

Tony LaRussa, with 13 post-season appearances, began his managerial career with the Chicago White Sox in 1979. LaRussa moved on to the Athletics in 1986, where he led Oakland to a World Series win and three AL pennants from 1988 to 1990. The former middle infielder then headed up the Cardinals, beginning in 1996. LaRussa led St. Louis to a World Series title in 2006.
