Jordan

Jordan has internal problems of its own. King Abdullah II sacked his government this week in response to growing complaints about the slow pace of promised reforms. Relations between Assad and Abdullah have been cordial, if not warm. The Syrian uprising began in Deraa, a town lying just a few miles north of the border with Jordan, whose residents share cross-border tribal ties.
