Peace talk preconditions are proving to be a problem for resuming negotiations. What are the two parties’ requirements for getting talks started?
It’s not just these three preconditions that Netanyahu has deemed unacceptable to Israel – it’s any preconditions. Israel says it will only enter negotiations with the Palestinians if there are no preconditions set.
The US seems to be on the same page. In September, the US ambassador to Israel said that the US believes that direct talks without preconditions are the only way to resolve the conflict, the Jerusalem Post reported.
