Some 30,000 people have been rescued as search operations continue following Japan's 9.0-magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami on March 11. Amazing stories of survival and hope are still emerging. Here are just a few examples:

4. Ship with 81 passengers found

A ship with 81 people aboard was ripped from its anchor lines by the tsunami Friday but was found hours later by the Japanese Navy. The dockworkers survived their ride to sea on the waves of the tsunami and were airlifted to safety, according to the AFP citing the Japanese language Jiji news agency.
