Ford's name entered in Maryland primary

Former President Gerald R. Ford's name has been placed on the ballot for the May 13 Republican presidential primary in Maryland. Allan C. Levey, state GOP chairman, said Secretary of State Fred Wineland listed Mr. Ford on the ballot because he "lists all the potential candidates who in his mind might run for president." Mr. Ford has until March 21 to remove his name if he does not wich it to appear on the ballot.

Another development in the Republican race was the endorsement by Sen. Barry Goldwater (R) of Arizona of Ronald Reagan. The Senator, his party's 1964 presidential nominee, said Tuesday, "Ronald Reagan had a distinguished career leading the largest state in the nation and has waged an excellent campaign on the issues."
