Salvador seizes farmland to parcel out to peasants

El Salvador's ruling junta has expropriated 90 percent of the nation's farmland for distribution to peasants in a third and final agrarian-reform decree, intended to defuse discontent among the poor and illiterate. The United States last week provided a $32.5 millin loan for the program.
