Star-spangled gymnasts

These gymnasts aren't going to Moscow, but they can call themselves Olympians. They earned that right during Olympic trials in Jacksonville, Fla., where the top six men and women competitors were chosen to make a national exhibition tour. Pictured left to right are: Peter Vidmar, Jim Hartnung, Bart Conner (the men's overall champion), Tracee Talavera (the women's overall champion), Kathy Johnson, and Marcia Frederick. Not shown are Ron Galimore, Phil Cahoy, Larry Gerard, Luci Collins, Amy Coopman, Beth Kline and Julianne McNamara (the latter two tied for sixth in the women's competition). Kurt Thomas was injured and did not compete.
