How the Monarch Got Its Colors

It all happened one billion years ago. A monarch butterfly, (who was originally black,) was fluttering about carelessly, until it started to rain. Then poor thing tried desperately to fly home but the wind was so strong and the rain so hard he was pushed to the ground like a falling brick, and fell unconscious on the ground.

After several days, the butterfly came to. He gazed horror-stricken at the sight before him. The jungle was a bedlam. Monkeys were turning somersaults. Apes were pounding their chests. Every animal was rejoicing because a beautiful rainbow was over their jungle. The butterfly flew up to the rainbow and flew through the orange streak. It made a lovely design. That is how the monarch butterfly got its colors.
