New Brazilian law could expel foreigners

A controversial bill that could mean the expulsion of thousands of foreigners from Brazil became law Wednesday. The law empowers the government to expel any foreigner in an "irregular position" in this country, even those married to Brazilians or parents of Brazilian children. The conservative military-led government has defended it as necessary for national security.
