The past is my Sorrow Scuffed as Fallen apple leaves And smoke in gutters. I hear The turning of the dark The unrelenting emptiness Of trees gone bone and bleak Then I look upward To where the sky is Bursting Orangeset and sun downtripping Colors speak Cry out And I less urgent than before Less faithless run Into the going grandeur Of the sun.
