China to go it alone in building A-plants?

China plans to build its own nuclear power stations without large-scale imports of foreign technology, a visiting US congressman said. Rep. Don Fuqua (D) of Florida, chairman of the House Science and Technology Committee, said that Chinese officials had indicated China would rely on its own resources in developing its nuclear energy program. He added that no decision had been made on the scale of the planned prog ram.
