Israeli warplanes hit Palestinian targets

A number of people were injured when Palestinian guerrillas attacked the northern Israeli township of Kiryat Shmona with rockets Monday afternoon. Eyewitnesses said the 20-minute attack came a few hours after Israeli jets attacked Palestinian guerrilla targets northeast of the port town of Tyre in Lebanon.

An Israeli military spokesman said the air strike was made to prevent the guerrilla units from reorganizing and to forestall any attempts to carry out operations against Israel.

Meanwhile, the military censor has banned Al Kuds, the largest Arab newspaper in East Jerusalem, for five days because it published details of a recently uncovered Islamic underground without prior submission to censorship. It marked the first time in five years that authorities have s uspended publication of an Arab newspaper.
