More than one skyjacker suspected in seizure
The Pakistan government said Tuesday more than one man might be involved in the hijack of an airliner with 148 people aboard to Afghanistan. The government voiced its suspicion as two Pakistani officials arrived in the Afghanistan capital of Kabul to try to negotiate the release of the passengers and crew held for the past 24 hours.
The pilot radioed yesterday that a man, armed with a grenade and other weapons, burst into the cockpit and forced the plane to be flown to Kabul. The man threatened to blow up the plane if Pakistan's military government did not release his relatives and a large number of people detained during recent unrest.
Government and airline officials said it was unclear if he had set a deadline , and the negotiations wanted full details of his demands.
