Jail concessions weighed for W. German guerrillas

Authorities in West Berlin and various West German states are considering possible concessions to jailed leftist urban guerrillas after one prisoner fasted to death and protests erupted around the country during the Easter holiday. Sigurd Debus, who had refused food for nearly 10 weeks in a mass hunger strike with other prisoners, died in Hamburg. Several explosions -- most of them minor --occurred in West Berlin the night after Debus died. And guerrilla sympathizers interrupted Easter church services.

Debus's 23 fellow hunger strikers ended their fast after his death, saying they had r eceived indications that their conditions would be improved.
