More than 1,000 rock-hurling university students demanding the resignation of President Chun Doo Hwan clashed with riot police Thursday for the second straight day. There were no immediate reports of injuries in the antigovernment demonstrations, but 48 students were detained by police. The student action at Seoul National University, the largest and most prestigious higher installation in South Korea, lasted nearly three hours.
