Polish prison revolt ends; 90 escapees still at large

A revolt by some 150 inmates at a jail here ended peacefully Monday, the official news agency PAP said. "The protesters peacefully left the demolished jail house and were transferred to other penal institutions," PAP said.

Officials of Poland's independent trade union, Solidarity, had been taking part in negotiations to end the mutiny, but PAP gave no details of how the talks concluded.
