Half the 'Woodstein' team may return to reporting
Bob Woodward, half of the Washington Post reporting team famed for its coverage of Watergate news, may be returning to investigative reporting. The Wall Street Journal reports that Mr. Woodward may give up his job as the Post's metropolitan editor to lead a new Post investigative reporting team.
He has been editor of the metro section since 1979 and has been mentioned as a possible successor to executive editor Benjamin Bradleee. The metro staff has been faced lately with increased competition from suburban Washington papers that are vying for readers of the Washington Star, which folded last summer.
