Who could have imagined how much Pinocchio would still be a useful reminder a century after Carlo Collodi first wrote about the puppet boy whose nose grew longer with every lie? But think of the people in high places who could not get through a door sideways these days if they had Pinocchio's affliction. And not only in the world's capital cities where scandals have brought deceptions to the surface. An American radio program has been doing a Pinocchio on everyday lying by asking listeners to report instances of speaking the truth! All in fun, of course, like Collodi's tale for children. Or is it?
