Panel of jurists condemns pace of Iranian executions

The International Commission of Jurists has condemned what it says is a sickening growth in the number of executions in Iran. The Geneva-based panel, an independent body of lawyers campaigning for legal rights throughout the world, said official figures of 3,350 people executed since 1979 ''may be substantial underestimates.''
