African peacekeepers threaten Chad pullout

African states threatened to pull their peacekeeping force from Chad unless President Goukouni Oueddei arranged a cease-fire with rebels and held elections within four months.

The Chadian government has rejected outright a comprehensive peace plan announced by the Organization of African Unity (OAU) after two days of talks in Nairobi on the war-torn country.
