US moving ahead on sale of spare parts to Taiwan

The Reagan administration announced it is going ahead with its controversial plan to sell Taiwan $60 million worth of parts and supplies for Taiwan's US-built fighters. Defense Department spokesman Henry Catto said China had been informed of the sale, but he did not indicate its response. Congress has 30 days to veto major arms sales abroad.
