US to slap quotas on sugar imports

President Reagan will proclaim an emergency program of sugar import quotas to stem the flow of foreign sugar threatening to damage domestic producers, Agriculture Secretary John Block announced. He predicted the quotas would prevent the government from accumulating vast amounts of US sugar under the price support program.
