Forecast

The forecast for tomorrow will be two robins in an apple tree, a brook that babbles merrily, wildflowers, violets, blooming along the woodland banks -- and scattered song! Yesterday was right for kites and the last of wild goose flights headed north through overcast grim as grey armadas massed through which spears of sunshine passed. Today, as at a sign, sky flings its tattered coat of clouds and swings light, like the fluttering of wings, over almost everything, foretelling what tomorrow brings -- -- mostly Spring! a record high in fragrance with a chance the sky will, cloudless, float in the lagoon, a picnic in the afternoon, frogs croaking a contented tune, and warmth to bask in while earth gives in greening grass, proof that it lives!
