A Belgian town says it wants no NATO missiles

Residents of the small Belgian town of Florennes objected to reported plans for placing NATO nuclear cruise missiles at a local air base, Mayor Leon Blavier said.

The Belgian government postponed a final decision on whether or not to deploy 48 NATO cruise missiles, making it dependent upon the outcome of US-Soviet arms control talks.
