Firms with S. African ties taboo for Nigerian offices

Nigeria said Thursday its government departments cannot sign contracts with foreign companies that have South African connections.

The government issued the guidelines to make Nigeria more influential in the continent's political efforts to end white domination in South Africa. The decision may cause problems for American companies forbidden under US law to include boycott clauses in their contracts.
