The latest in high-tech blue pencils comes from GE, which has built a censoring device into its top-line TV models. All it takes is a code, the channel number, and a random four-digit number, punched into the remote control dial. The channel is blacked out for 12 hours. Trying to tune in a censored channel gets you a blink on the screen. GE says the feature has had good reception since it was introduced early in the summer.

There's just one hitch. If the kids figure out how the system works, they can fight back by wiping out a few of mom and dad's favorite shows.m
