Chinese outlines a path apart from superpowers
United Nations, N.Y.
In a mildly phrased speech to the General Assembly, Chinese Foreign Minister Huang Hua reminded the world of China's foreign policy, Monitor correspondent Louis Wiznitzer reports.
He made it clear that China stands shoulder to shoulder with the third world and rejects what he called both superpowers' ''hegemonism.'' He singled out as examples the ''wars of aggression'' against Kampuchea (Cambodia) and Afghanistan and the plight of the Lebanese and Palestinian people.
